I help families with children and young adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities transition through early childhood and college.

My Services

Early Childhood Special Education (Preschool)

  • Assess the child’s development and areas of support.

  • Guide understanding developmental milestones and delays.

  • Consult on the inclusive environment.

  • Analyze and interpret assessment reports.

  • Assist in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP).

  • Collaborate with families on realistic and meaningful goals specific to their child.

  • Connect families with local resources and programs.

  • Provide information on community resources and systems.

  • Offer strategies for supporting the child’s learning and development at home.

  • Provide training and coaching to parents on how to collaborate and communicate with programs and schools.

  • Help families navigate the systems and processes to access special education services and funding.

  • Coordinate, collaborate, and communicate with teachers, therapists, and other medical professionals to ensure continuity of support.

  • Provide reassurance and emotional support to families during challenging times.

  • Help families understand their rights and options available for their child.

  • Help families understand the importance of helping their child develop the skills now so that they can be ready for college when they are older.

Post-secondary Inclusive Education (College)

  • Assist families and young adults in preparing for the transition from high school to college.

  • Guide students in developing self-advocacy and independent living skills necessary for college success.

  • Analyze and interpret assessment reports.

  • Help families evaluate college programs based on disability services, accommodations, and accessibility.

  • Provide insights on campuses with inclusive higher education programs designed for students with intellectual disabilities.

  • Help families understand the differences between high school IEPs/504 Plans and college disability accommodations.

  • Support families in accessing Disability Services on college campuses that may include academic and housing accommodations.

  • Help students navigate processes for securing technology or assistive tools for screen readers or other specialized software.

  • Provide strategies for executive functioning skills such as organization, managing time, and emotional control.

  • Support young adults in learning how to use the technology for college (e.g., email, calendar, learning management system).

  • Support young adults in learning how to communicate with professors, advisors, and peers about their needs.

  • Guide students on how to access campus resources, such as counseling, library, tutoring, and career services.

  • Help young adults prepare for social engagement at college that may include clubs, social events, and extracurricular.

  • Assist families in exploring disability-specific scholarships, grants, and other funding opportunities.

  • Collaborate with families on developing long-term goals after college

  • Support students on career development and readiness.
